Storyboard Text

  • 1770-Born
  • Welcome to the Third estate Stephen, things are a bit rough in this world but hopefully by the time your my age, things will get better and we will be granted things such as land.
  • 1891- Moderates (Working on the farm)
  • This isn't fair. We get ordered around and taxed highly, we should have a say too, I mean we did send the petition to the assembly when King Louis XVI called for a meeting of the Estates General. We should do things like that more often.
  • I agree with you son.
  • 1793-1795-Radicals (Not going to put up with it)
  • Aside from all the taxes we have to pay, my family has learned to get used to all the work we have to do on the farm especially since the moderates have explained that property is a right, therefore we can farm our own land now... thanks Moderates.
  • 1793-1795-Radicals (Execution by guillotine)
  • When the radicals rose to power many farmers and peasants were executed by a guillotine for obscure reasons.
  • 1799-1815-Napoleon as king (Creation of schools)
  • Lycee/ the Baccalaureat (French schools) were a few of the many amazing things created when Napoleon Bonaparte crowned himself king. Bonaparte did things like this because he liked the idea of equality and it established more freedom between the estates.
  • 1799-1815-Napoleon as king (Academic learning)
  • School s a very nice privilege
  • We were able to learn Science, Math, English, and more. We learned to read and write which is a very important skill to know.
