So many of you generally know about school athletics. Athletics is a collection of competitive sporting events varying from Track, crosscountry, football, basketball, tennis, soccer, softball, and baseball. Some say that today playing sports is all about winning at all costs. It often seems that in all of that the passion and the love for the game that we start out with can be lost. Let's remember why we play.
”What are you reading?” I'm reading a book over Athletics and sports.” “Oh , that's so cool, what have you learned so far?”
“Playing sports help develop teamwork and leadership skills. Working toward a common goal helps children develop communication and problem solving skills that will benefit them on and off the field. Playing a sport is more than just trying to win, playing a sport means you are dedicated to your team and your coach, you pledge to do your best in everything you do.”
when I think back about all the memories and experiences I have playing sports,I would have rather always lost than to never have played the game. Now don't get me wrong, losses can be heartbreaking. The thought of a missed shot, a ball off the post, a bad call by the ref - because let's face it, it's usually the ref's fault, right?
We think about what could have been. But we keep playing, we keep competing, I would never want to give up how sports have affected my life, what I've learned from them, and the relationships i've formed.
