Storyboard Text

  • I have an idea! Let's take a journey to the center of the earth!
  • This is Mr. Smith's class. Margret suggests that they take a trip to the center of the earth.
  • Great idea Margret! Let's go!
  • So this is the crust?
  • Yes Lilly. The crust is the ocean floor, but nobody's been there before.  It's the thinnest layer of the earth.
  • They just teleported to an island on the ocean to explain the crust.
  • wow Ms. Smith! That was so fun! We should go take another journey to the center of the earth tomorrow!
  • Now they've teleported to the mantle so Ms. Smith can explain it.
  • Ms. Smith. This is the mantle? It's really hot!
  • Yup. It's the largest and thickest. It's between the crust and the core and it's made out of magma and rock.
  • This is the outer core.  It is 2,200 km thick and is made of liquid surroundin the inner core. It's also made of iron with a small amount of nickel.
  • Now they've teleported to the outer core.
  • This must be the inner core!
  • Now they've arrived at the inner core.
  • yes it is. it is the inner  most layer of the earth. it is solid and dense, and it it 1230 km thick.
  • now they have arrived back at school.
  •  yes it was fun Lily.  We'll go back tomorrow!
