Storyboard Text

  • Expostion
  • Charlotte Doyle is a 13 year old girl who is forced to ride home on a boat, The Seahawk, after her schooling in England, 1832. She was headed back to her parents in Rhode Island.
  • Conflict
  • Charlotte is forced to be the only girl on a ship of all men, which makes her feel upset because of the training she was taught. Now she must face the hardship of things such as dirt clothes, and no lessons.
  • Charlotte meets Captain Jaggery. He says he will protect her. He thinks the crew is trying to kill him, so he ask Charlotte to spy on the crew.
  • Rising Action
  • Climax
  • Jaggery is told by Charlotte that there is a plot to kill him by the crew. He punishes them all and kills Zachariah, Charlotte's only friend. She then joins the crew. Jaggery becomes angry and frames Charlotte for the murder of his first mate.
  • Falling Action
  • Charlotte never hurt the first mate as acussed. Jaggery fell of the boat into the storm. Soon after, they returned to Rhode Island where she was met by her parents and siblings. Charlottee was unhappy. She missed the ship.
  • Resolution
  • Charlotte decided the proper lifestyle was not for her. She joined Zachariah, who faked his death, to sail once again.
