  • In the year 2081, in an "equal" world, George and Hazel Bergeron watch the ballet on television with no knowledge of their son Harrison's situation.
  • Climax
  • Harrison appears at the ballet, interrupting the performance, discarding his handicaps and speaking against the government
  • Falling Action
  • Harrison chooses his queen, the most beautiful ballerina of all, and they dance together, defying both the government and the laws of physics. They are happy.
  • Resolution
  • The Handicapper General Diana Moon Glampers shoots Harrison and his queen where they stand.
  • Diana Moon Glampers reloads her gun and threatens the musicians, saying they have ten seconds to put their handicaps back on. The Bergeron's television burns out.
  • Due to Hazel's lack of intelligence and George's mental handicap, they both forget about seeing the death of their son on live televison.
