  • It is so hot and smelly out here!
  • And these mosquitos are horrible!
  • The Great Compromise
  • I say that the bigger the population, the more representatives!
  • I disagree! The states should have representatives not population.

  • Why don't we say that both have equal power?
  • Blah Blah Blah!
  • Blah Blah!
  • The summer of 1887 was very smelly and hot, so most of the delegates did not like Philadelphia at all.
  • The 3/5th Compromise
  • A slave should count as a whole person!
  • The Constitutional Convention was in disagreement on if the states or people should have more power.
  • Federalists vs. Anti-Federalists
  • We need this new government to survive as a nation!
  • Then, Roger Sherman said that both the states and the people have equal power.
  • Constitution was Made
  • We have finished the new Constitution!
  • The 3/5th Compromise was created so that a slave would only count as a 3/5th's of a person so the Southern states wouldn't have too much power.
  • No! A slave should be 3/5th's of a person!
  • The Anti-Federalists would not sign the ratification unless the Federalists added a Bill of Rights.
  • But if we do, then the government could become a Dictatorship.
  • George Washington was made the first President of the United States and James Madison was called the Father of the Constitution.
