Giles Corey and John Proctor come to court with Mary Warren to disprove the girls. Hathorne is outraged that someone interrupted his court. But Danforth Agrees to hear them out.
John Proctor as well as Giles Corey and Mary Warren have a Hearing with judge Danforth. He and brings Herrik,Cheever, Hale and Parris. Here John presents an signed petition by 92 people attesting to his wife's good character. Giles presents and letter who he will not reveal the name of it's writer to the court. Reverend Parris is very suspicious of Proctor's and Giles' actions
Giles Brings his accusation Putnam is using his daughters bewitching to get rid of other land owners so he can buy their property at auction. The two get into an argument that culminates in Giles charging Putnam and being taken away
Mary Warren accuses they other girls of being liars which they deny. To support that Abigail is indeed a liar Proctor claims that he had an affair with her. His wife can attest to this because she is apparently incapable of lying. But when she is brought in to testify about her husbands affair, she lie. This is ironic because had she told the truth everything would have been much better
Abigail and the other girls turn on Abigail and start accusing her of witchcraft. They claim to be being harassed by her spirit in the form of a bird. This is ironic because Mary came to court to end this but now she is being accused of withcraft
The "Bird" chases the girls outside where the whole village gathers to witness Mary seek forgiveness from Abigail and accuse John of witchcraft. To this accusation John proclaims "God is dead"
