  • Jackson as the "Peoples President"
  • Andrew Jackson
  • Yaaa!!!
  • I believe in expanding democracy and making sure more people could vote
  • Spoils System
  • You people on the left are fired and my friends, family, and supporters are hired on the right side
  • Booo!!
  • Yaaa!!!
  • Parents
  • Jackson's "Kitchen Cabinet"
  • You guys are just a Kitchen Cabinet
  • Good idea guys!
  • Jackson was elected by the common people in 1828. He believed in expanding democracy and making sure more people could vote. This meant that the average white person could vote now and control Democracy which changed American Politics forever. Jackson took away voting restrictions so any of the white people could vote owning land or not.
  • The Nullification Crisis of 1828-1833
  • I here by state and create a law that nullifyes the tax on our raw materials such as cotton and am threating to secede from the Union if the governemnt made them follow it. We all hate and are angered by this tax and want to nullify this by creating a law.
  • Common People
  • The spoils system was about Jackson believing that the government needed to be more responsive. To make this happen he fired his existing federal employees and hired his family, friends, and financial supporters even though they weren't qualified. This created the Kitchen Cabinet.
  • Indian Removal Act and the Trail of Tears
  • Employees
  • Ok (Indians)
  • Friends/ Supporters
  • The Kitchen Cabinet was a result of the Spoils System. The Spoils System was Jackson firing most of his employees and hiring his unqualified friends, family, and supporters. Since his new federal employees were unqualified friends and family the other team or his opponents would call them the Kitchen Cabinet because they were unqualified. It's an off brand of a Cabinet which advises the President and is head of the Executive branch.
  • The Bank War
  • I state that all money is to be removed from National banks and put into separate banks. This ended the National bank. I'm doing this because I believe that the Second bank is unconstitutional and I do not like that so am removing the National bank which means all the money is removed from there and put into separate banks.
  • This Crisis happened after the tax on raw material angered the South very much that they created a law that passed or nullified this tax on the South which means that this tax is canceled. They got the power to do this by Vice President John C. Calhoun saying that any state could nullify a tax if they saw fit. Jackson didn't like this idea and passed the Force Bill to use Federal troops to enforce the law. In the end, they compromised but this was an issue still.
  • South Leader
  • If you do this then I pass the Force bill to use federal troops to enforce the law.
  • The Indian Removal Act and the Trail of Tears were both similar because they both involved Indians being removed. The removal act Jackson was pressured by white settlers to remove Indians and give up their land and make them move to Oklahoma. They all did except the Cherokee tribe because they didn't want to give up their land which they then did later. The Trail of tears was when the Indians were walking to Oklahoma when lots of Indians(1/4 of the people) died to starvation, exposure, or diseases.
  •     No (Cherokee Tribe)
  • (Remove all those Indians you don't want anyone to get in your way during the westward expansion right. )-White Settlers. (Ok, I guess I could force them to move to Oklahoma.)-Jackson
  • You Indians better move now!!
  • This Bank war happened because Jackson thought that the second bank was unconstitutional even though the court case Maryland vs McCulloh found out that it was constitutional. Since he didn't realize this he stated that all the money in the National bank were to be removed from there for good and put into separate banks. Some people liked this idea and some people thought Jackson was abusing his own power.
