- On his wedding night to a new bride, Awiyao decides to momentarily leave the celebrations to go to his house and visit his previous wife, Lumnay.
- Because his wife Lumnay was unable to bear him a child, Awiyao separated from her. He wanted a son, so he married Madulimay. Since Lumnay loves Awiyao and does not desire their separation, she is saddened.
- Awiyao goes in an effort to console Lumnay. He presents her with a wide variety of things from their shared life. Lumnay declines them and clings to Awiyao, pleading with him to stay.
- Finally, Awiyao decides to return to the wedding, and Lumnay runs into the hills.
- Lumnay decides to tell the village chief at the wedding that it is not acceptable to take away Awiyao from her simply because she is unable to bear him a child after finding the strength to speak up for her feelings. She is startled by the brilliant lights as she gets closer to the area where the wedding dance is being conducted. She decides to just get away from there.
- Nobody is certain where Lumnay is now or has been since that time.
