This statement can also be proven by a current event. President Donald Trump has been imposing tariffs that raise taxes on imports. This encourages citizens to purchase items made within the U.S. so that we can gain economic power as a country by exporting more and importing less. (mercantilism) However this has a down side. President Trump has specifically raised tariffs on imports from Turkey, which is hurting their country because U.S. citizens are less likely to purchase their more expensive products.
Economic Restrictions Bring Protest: Part 2
Videos on social media have circulated of Turkish citizens breaking common products from popular U.S. companies such as Apple and Coca-Cola.
Other Turkish citizens affected by these tariffs are boycotting American companies.

My friends, NO MORE APPLE until this tariff on Turkish imports in the US is repealed!
These examples prove that economic restrictions bring protest. I agree with this statement because I know that when citizens believe that they are being violated, they will not just sit back and let it happen, especially if it hurts their wealth. Citizens want power, and money equals power so they will not let the government take what the citizens believe is rightfully theirs. At least not without a fight.
