Why doAsian International students come to Binghamton University?
In Binghamton University, there is a reported 2,107 International students from Asia. We see them everyday, from the lecture halls, to the dining halls and to the gyms. They make up a large portion of the students in our school. They have come here for different reasons, but we will asking a a few Asian international students why they came to study here and how their experiences differentiate from that of back home.
The Plan is to visit international housing and the East gym, where there are a good number of international Asian students. The plan is to ask the students we are interviewing where they are from and why they choose to come to Binghamton. We will also ask other questions like how are you adjusting, or what do you miss most about home, but we will ask different questions to different groups in order for it to not be repetitive. The interviews will be filmed with the students' consent. We will also include shots of them walking in and out of the internal housing dorms and them in the East Gym to show their day to day activities. Throughout the video, we hope to understand why these students come to Binghamton and the differences of the culture they were used to back home.
