The witches meet Macbeth and Banquo on the heath. Banquo is confused with the clothing of the witches and how the facial hair they have. The witches first address Macbeth with different names which were Thane of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor, and King. This confuses Macbeth because at this time he is only the Thane of Glamis. The witches would then give Macbeth and Banquo their prophecies.
The First Apparition
With King Duncan asleep and the guards no longer a threat, Macbeth would execute the plan he had made with Lady Macbeth. Macbeth would take the daggers from the guards and kill Duncan as he sleeps. After the murder is done, Macbeth would go back to Lady Macbeth and she is angry that he still has the daggers. She would take the daggers back and put them on the guards. They would both then pretend like they don't know happened the next day.
