Storyboard Text

  • Please help this man bathe.
  • You must talk to my mother first. Beg her and she will help you.
  • Allow this stranger on here on the Phaecean's isle to find compassion, to be welcomed well.
  • Nausicaa appreciates Odysseus' compliment to her suitability to be a wife. She knows from his appearance that he must be disliked by a God, giving her another conflict on whether or not to help him. In the end she helps him and gives him clothes to wear and oil to smooth his skin with.
  • After he bathes, Athena makes him look handsome and heroic. Impressed, Nausicaa, who develops a crush on Odysseus, offers him food and drink, and even advises him on how to ask her parents for help.
  • Instead of riding into to town together, Nausicaa avoids gossip by having Odysseus to go to the palace separately after her, allowing him time to pray to Athena in her poplar grove. In the end Nausicaa helps save Odysseus and even marries his son, Telemachus
