Storyboard Text

  • Can I get a ride?
  • Can you tell me about your family and your relationship with them.
  • We don't need to talk about that, it's irrelevant. JUST STOP ASKING!
  • Done here, time for the next house.
  • ."...he spotted a hitchhiker standing in the snow beside the road, thumb raised high, shivering in the gray Alaska dawn" (3) This shows Chris to be willing to be cold to find a ride rather than use money to buy a ride. He is challenging himself this way.
  • "Despite prodding from Burres, however, McCandless revealed virtually nothing about his family." (45) This shows Chris to be arrogant by not talking about his parents because he doesn't care about them.
  • "...when he arrived in Bullhead City, McCandless stopped moving for more than two months-probably the longest he stayed in one place from the time he left Atlanta until he went to Alaska..." (39) This shows Chris to be very adventurous to move around to so many different places.
  • "The summer between his sophomore and junior years Chris again returned to Annadale and took a job delivering pizzas for Domino's. 'He didn't care that it was a cool thing to do...'" (120) This shows Chris to be extremely hard-working and not just caring about the money that he makes.
