Storyboard Text

  • Not all writing projects are useless!
  • I'm not looking forward to school today, we have to start a writing project. I don't see the point.
  • What do you mean?
  • The way we write has changed with updates in technology! All types of jobs require writing skills as well. Not only do we need to have 21st century writing skills, but we need speaking and listening skills as well!
  • How can we learn them?
  • Well, we can learn these skills in all of the subjects we learn in school!
  • Chad, after listening to your concerns, I recommend that you review your verb tenses. Why don't you look those over and then we can regroup. Good writers revise their writing several times!
  • To help improve our writing skills, we can have writing conferences with our teachers
  • To help listening skills, we should be sure to maintain eye contact with the teacher, avoid distractions, ask yourself mental questions as the lecture is occurring
  • Speaking skills can be developed through cooperative learning or group work in all of the content classes
  • Wow! I guess all of these skills are important and can be learned in a variety of ways!
