Storyboard Text

  • You can't be serious! A mortal! He's having an affair with a mortal!
  • I'm pregnant!
  • That's amazing!
  • One affair in particular angered Hera beyond reason.
  • Don't you think it's possible that this guy is just pretending to be Zeus so that you'll give him the time of day?
  • Zeus was infatuated with a mortal princess named Semele. He would do anything for her but in order to see her, he needed to be disguised as a mortal.
  • I want to see you like Hera sees you!
  • Hera was infuriated and humiliated. She devised a plan to get revenge on Semele and her unborn child. She disguised herself as a mortal and went to see the girl.
  • Hera pretended to be an old friend to gain Semele's trust. Hera has soon convinced Semele that Zeus was likely an impostor pretending to be a god. The girl was now dangerously curious.
  • I must ask him immediately!
  • The next time Zeus came to visit, Semele asked him to grant her a favor. He promised on River Styx to give her whatever she asked for. She asked to see him in his godly form and Zeus immediately tried to talk her out of it, saying it was too dangerous.
  • Please don't do this! It will kill you!
  • Semele thought that he was only saying that because he was trying to cover up the fact that he wasn't a god. Zeus was then forced to show her his true form.
