  • I'm sorry that i forgot to pack you a lunch today!
  • That's alright honey, I'll just eat my arm. I've always wanted to be a cannibal!
  • Diction: Allusion Syntax: Parallelism 
  • IT'S ALIIIIIIVVVEEE!!!
  • If I've told you once, I've told you a million times. That's not funny!
  • Diction: Euphemism Syntax: Polysyndeton
  • Man... I didn't think that the infection would spread that far and make him just... kick the bucket
  • He lived and he loved and he passed.
  • Mr. Van Pelt is in his usual happy and sarcastic mood today, despite his wife forgetting to make him lunch.
  • Diction: Hyperbole Syntax: Anadiplosis
  • If I'm breathing, then I'm living. But if I'm breathing, that doesn't mean I'm "living".
  • Not surprising to Ms. Jordan, Dr. Van Pelt tries to act funny in the work place. This horseplay of his leads to the death of his patient, a Mr. San Ta'Claus. 
  • Diction: Metaphor Syntax: Epanalepsis
  • Bu... But a life not living is not worth living!
  • The untimely death of his patient led Dr. Van pelt to feel intense remorse and eventually led to depression. 
  • Diction: Rhetorical Question Syntax: Epanalepsis
  • You know, you just gotta live to learn and learn to live.
  • Dr. Van Pelt stands atop the hospital building complex, contemplating about how he should carry out his suicide. Ms. Johnson, however, strongly opposes his idea and decides to help him out by getting to the bottom of why he's having these thoughts in the first place. She discovers that he is distraught by the fact that he lost a patient.
  • Why are you up here? The wind up here is, like, a bajillion miles an hour!
  • Ms. Johnson explains that if he does not try to get through this tough stage, he won't see the end result which is far better to reach than the point of suicide. He decides that she's right, and agrees to come down.
  • Life  sucks, i know. But if you never get past the storm, you'll never see the end of the rainbow
  • I guess you're right... okay, I'll come down
  • Both of the doctors sit on a bench, both in happy moods. Dr. Van Pelt asks rhetorically if Ms. Johnson thought he'd actually do it. She replies but softly with a word of advice.
  • Ha! Did you really think i was gonna do it?
