Don the pianist is a children’s story based on post colonialism and racism which aims to transfer important messages to its audience from the basic youth days. This is important as everyone needs to know about this global issue and be aware of ways to treat the generations.

  • My little cute Don
  • One day, on the last snowy days of January, a little boy was born in Pensacola. His name was Don Shirley and was really loved by his parents!
  • The audience don’t like to see black people playing. This does not benefit me kid.
  • Two years later, Don learned to play piano. He was really talented and was motivated by his parents every day!
  • Everyone was surprised to see Don playing very good. He became ten, and learned to play at concerts!
  • But one day that Don was practicing his piece, a manager told Don that American listeners do not like to see “him” play. Don got really sad, and felt like he never wants to play again:(.
  • Shirley went to university and did not play piano for some time. When he got his degree, he went back to music again and felt so free
