Mrs. Robinson needed to get her cat down from the tree. She used a ladder but needed to know what height the ladder needed to be. She saw that the ladder base could be 18 ft and the angle next to the tree was 67 degrees. She decided to use tangent and do tan(67)= x/ 18. She finally got that the ladder needed to be 42 ft.
Then, the cat climbed on the top of the light pole. Mrs. Robinson needed to find out the angle of the pole. She found out that the light pole was 15 meters tall and the ladder should be 45 meters long on the base. She did tan(x)= 15/ 45. She then got that it should be at a 18 degree angle.
After, the cat got down from the pole but then climbed up on the roof! Now she needed to know the height of the house. She knew that it was 56 feet from the top to the bottom horizontally and the angle was 39 degrees. She then used sin(39)= x/ 56 to get that the house was 35 feet.
After a long day of finding angles to get her cat down, she finally got her cat down and was ready to go back inside.
Once she got inside she decided that from now on she should keep a leash on her cat while she went outside.
