  • I dislike how they make us sit behind a curtain in a balcony
  • one day these boys will regret this.
  • I was the country first doctor and no hospitals would agree to work with me 
  • Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton met in 1840  the world Anti slavery convention in London. They were very mad to fin out they couldn't speak. The men running the convention made the women sit in the balcony behind a curtain.
  • Let's send a notice to the newspaper about Seneca Falls convention.
  • This backfired for the boys because on this day these two women met and changed history. They both had totally different life styles, but if thy never met we would have women rights like we do today. They both agreed that something had to be done about the injustices suffered by women.
  • All men and women are created equal
  • Lucy Stone after she graduation stood up for women. She refused to pay property taxes because women suffered taxation without representation.  Her sister in-law Elizabeth blackwell was rejected from 29 medical school because she wanted to be a doctor. She studied everything needed, finally one accepted her and she graduation top of her class.
  • Our legacy will move on for all women in the future.
  • 8 years later Stanton and Mott met again  over an afternoon tea. They decided to send a notice to the local newspaper. This would be announcing a women's convention in Seneca Falls, New York. THe organized movement for women's rights was about to begin at this point.
  • On July 19th, 1848 300 people including 40 men showed up For the Seneca Falls Convention.  Many were abolitionist, Quakers, or other reformers. Some were even local housewives, farmers, or factory workers. The organizers modeled their proposal for women rights. The Declaration of Sentiments began with " That all men and women are created equal."
  • A legacy of this convention was that it started the movement to give women equal rights. Soon enough that happened women got rights like the men had. New York gave women control over their properties and wages, while Massachusetts and Indiana passed more liberal divorce laws
