Why couldn't gravity pull the ball down faster? The air friction didn't slow the ball down soon enough and now the ball is all the way out in the field.

Kayla hopes to hit the ball just right and make it sail through the air and make it to past Jack in the outfield.
Gravity and friction was on Kayla's side as the ball flew through the air and landed in the outfield. Gravity pulled the ball down and friction slowed it down as it was in the air.
We're supposed to go up those mountains because that's where north is
Kayla got a home run for her team!!
Parachute cords are elastic. The reason behind this is because when you deploy your parachute, you don't want your cords that are attached to the parachute to snap. You'll fall to your death!
Based on Mary's compass. she has to go north, and that means over those mountains. it's dangerous!
