Miss Emma, Tante Lou, and Reverend Ambrose go to visit Jefferson however Jefferson is unresponsive. They're mad at Grant because they believe the radio is the reason for the way Jefferson is acting.
Deputy Paul confronts Miss Emma and says that he feels the radio is reason why he is ignoring people. Miss Emma wants to do something about it.
Jefferson's aunt and Reverend Ambrose address Grant and tell him that the radio is sinful.
Grant is mad that the others are blaming him and he feels like since he got Jefferson the radio he hasn't seen any hate in his eyes. His aunt disagrees and they end up leaving the situation as a standoff.
Grant talks to Jefferson and asks him to talk to his Godmother. He also brings him comics and candy.
Grant is overjoyed when he realizes Jefferson has made progress. Jefferson thanks his students for the peanuts and Grant is estatic.
