Personally, I did not regard comics as cheap or negative, so the man mentioning that he felt self concious and got bullied for having comics really surprised me.
I never really thought about the definiton of a comic, but calling it sequential art makes a lot of sense. It was also very new to me to call the definiton "neutral" in relation to style, color and subject.
The first few frames of the second comic were very interesting and thought-provoking in the sense that you were left wondering what these really were. I had no idea what an icon was but it is a nice definition to clear the confusion up.
I never really thought about the different "worlds" we live in. I thought it was very cool that they described that comics place themselves in the realm of concepts by deemphasizing the appearance of the physical world. These comics really helped me learn new perceptions and facts about the world of comics!
