  • Hi, I'm Fighto. I'm here to tell you about the Kansas-Nebraska Act and Bleeding Kansas!
  • Popular sovereignty is okay in territories!
  • The legislation decided to allow popular sovereignty. (popular sovereignty is when the people vote whether the state is free/slave state. The majority rules.
  • We need slaves! Agree with me, or we'll kill you!
  • After that, a huge outbreak of violence happened. People were killing others of they didn't agree with them so they would have more people on their side.
  • No! Everyone should have freedom!
  • When popular sovereignty was allowed in Kansas, everyone went to vote. When the votes were counted, there were way too many votes. But despite the stuffed boxes, Kansas was voted free
  • There isn't even this many people in Kansas!

  • Soon, the verbal confrontation turned into physical violence. 
  • I'm tired of just talking, you're not listening!

  • Popular sovereignty was passed by the legislation and completely ignored the 30˚ 36' line. There were no longer any boundaries for the north or south. From then on out, people voted to decided for states to be slave or free and the majority ruled. The conflict between the north and south continued to escalate and helped cause the Civil War.
