Brodie debates whether he would like Otis to come back. He has a bad dream and still doesn't feel so good. Then, he feels bad for Otis' family and wants him to come back alive.
Brodie goes to the hole where he buried the sandals and towels and feel tremendous guilt. Everything keeps going on the way it has been. But he finds a letter saying "TELL"
Brodie wakes up Alex and asks him about the letter. He is feeling pressure to tell and wants to know who wrote the letter. Brodie starts to get better. Then, Mrs. Rand says what she saw at the river and says that they fell in.
Brodie is confused about why Mrs.Rand put the blame on Otis. Brodie decides not to go to Mrs. Rands house because he wants to avoid people saying how great he was. They thought he was great because they think that the lies he told them are true. Brodie also lies to a police officer.
Brodie figures out about Pauline's funeral. He explains to his parents that he feels like a murderer, but they don't believe him because he lied to them too. Things were not going good.
A memory tree for Pauline is being made. Brodie goes to a ceremony for Pauline. Brodie is always getting scared if somebody knows what happened. Then, Otis is found.
