This rock says: Scribes had to learn over 700 hyroglyphics. Teachers were very strict. If a student was lazy, they would get punished. Men were the only ones that could be scribes. Most came from artisans or merchants.
This is what they had to do: It tells us that they carried orders out from the government. They also had to go to school since they were five. They had to go to school for 12 years.

What a coincidence...This rock says that scribes were the third from the bottom on the pyramid. Scribes had many jobs. Some examples are recording things, collected taxes, and helped out the military. All the scribes used the same tools. They always carried their tools where ever they go. They always carried Papyrus with them at all times as long as their pen.
