  • Because of Newton's first law of motion. All objects in motion stay in motion and objects at rest stay at rest, unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. 
  • Interesting! and what causes this!
  • This is caused by inertia-the tendency of an object to do what it is already doing.
  • In other words, the ball is in motion and the unbalanced force, which is the net causes the ball to stop.
