I was born in Los Gatos California on April 26, 1997. My parents had been married for nine years, and I was their first child. It wasn’t by choice that they waited so long, so I was an exciting arrival for them.
When I was three, we moved to the greater Philadelphia area. That was the year my brother was born, and I recall being quite impatient for him to grow up and have normal conversations. Our family got a new house, where we’ve lived until now.
When I was was 5 I went to kindergarten at Grace Christian School, and for 1st and 2nd grade I went to Penn View Christian. I picked up some pretty bad attitudes there, and I really wasn’t interested in much except art and reading.
But in 3rd grade, because I was behind in math and ahead in reading, my parents pulled me out of regular school to homeschool me. They had friends that had done it, and figured they’d give it a whirl. From 3rd grade through high school, I ended up remaining homeschooled.
When I was 14, my parents shipped me off to a Christian camp, one of many Christian camps I had gone to, as a kind of last ditch effort for my bad behavior. I was saved there, and the rest of my life and attitudes changed from that point on.
The biggest plot twist in my life, aside from being saved, has been the start of my UPS career. I’ve grown in my faith and learned leadership abilities, social skills, public speaking, tenacity, hustle, and how to operate under intense pressure. To date, it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done, but like a I said, a complete plot twist.
