  • The exposition is when Roger steals Mrs. Jones' purse. This leads us to the conflict and what type of characters are involved in the story.
  • CLIMAX
  • The Rising action is when Mrs. Jones is starting to teach Roger a moral lesson. Then conflict is Roger not making the right decisions, so this is the first problem he faces.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • The conflict of the story is Roger not making the right decisions. Roger decided to try to steal Mrs. Jones' purse to buy himself a pair of blue suede shoes.
  • RESOLUTION
  • The climax is when Roger sits the furthest away from the door to try to make Mrs. Jones trust him. This shows that Roger understood the moral lesson and shows it by trying to get Mrs. Jones' trust.
