Storyboard Text

  • You juggler, you cankerblossom, You thief of love! What, have you come by night And stolen my love's heart from him?
  • Are you grown so high in his esteem Because I am so dwarfish and so low? How low am I? I am not yet so low But that my nails can reach unto thine eyes.
  • I pray you, thou you mock me, gentlemen, Let her not hurt me. O, when she is angry, she is keen and shrewd. Although she be but little, she is fierce.
  • Hermia turns her confusion into anger and yells at Helena. Hermia is furious that Helena was accusing her of being a part of this "game". She calls Helena a deceiver and a worm who has stolen her lover away.
  • Get you gone, you dwarf; You minimus, of hind’ring knot-grass made; You bead, you acorn.
  • You are too officious In her behalf that scorns your services. Let her alone; speak not of Helena, Take not her part. For if thou dost intend Never so little show of love to her, Thou shalt aby it.
  • Hermia is becoming self conscious about her height. Because she is short, and Helena is tall she thinks that Lysander is attracted to how tall Helena is. Hermia, however says she is not too short to where she could scratch out Helena's eyes.
  • Follow? Nay; I’ll go with thee, cheek by jowl.
  • Now she holds me not; Now follow, if thou dar’st, to try whose right, Of thine or mine, is most in Helena.
  • Helena knows she is no match to Hermia and so she asks Lysander and Demetrius to keep Hermia from harming her. She says that even though Hermia is short and little, she is strong and fierce.
  • This is thy negligence. Still thou mistak’st, Or else commit’st thy knaveries willfully.
  • Believe me, king of shadows, I mistook. Did not you tell me I should know the man By the Athenian garments he had on?
  • Lysander calls Hermia a dwarf and other cruel names and tells her to get lost. Demetrius then tells Lysander that he should leave Helena alone and not be so rude to Hermia. He tells Lysander to stop sticking up for Helena who doesn't love him back.
  • Lysander claims that Hermia isn't holding on to him anymore. He says to Demetrius that if he's brave enough he'll follow him to fight for Helena. Demetrius responds saying he'll walk right by Lysander's side and not behind him.
  • Demetrius and Lysander leave Helena and Hermia alone. King Oberon then turns to Puck and blames him for all the couples' fighting. Puck defends himself saying that he did exactly what Oberon told him, he just had not known which Athenian to give the flower to.
