  • this is terrible we where not allowed to speak because we are  women 
  • Oberlin collage 1847
  • we would like you to write a speech for graduation but you will not give a man will
  • I will not be treated this way i refuse!
  • 1849  Elizabeth Blackwell graduated top of her class in medical school
  • I gradated top of my class in medical school after being rejected by 29 schools before that just because i am a girl.i am also the first female doctor in the U.S
  • Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Stanton are outraged that they cant speak at a anti slavery convention just because they are women but they meet each other on the balcony and they talk about the injustices on women.

  • Lucy Stone graduated Oberlin collage in 1847,the collage invited her to write a speech but she could not give it because women could not speak in public. Outraged she refused and after she graduation she spoke out for women's rights.She also refused to pay property taxes because women could not vote. 
  • Seneca Falls convention July 19 1848
  • us women are tired of being treated differently because of our gender we want equal rights 
  • Elizabeth Blackwell well wanted to be a doctor.she studied math,history, and science.She was rejected by 29 medical schools until one in 1849.she graduated top of her class become the U.S first female doctor.later not hospitals agreed to hire her.

  • The convention at Seneca falls showed injustices of women.but then Stanton proposed that women had the right to vote but Mott thought they where going too fast. but Stanton idea received support on by Fredrick Douglas.every body agree that black men should be allowed to vote but what about black women and women in general.

  • When Stanton and Mott met again  they decided to have a convention for women's rights and put and add in the newspaper.The day of the convention 300 people showed up including 40 men.they had made a Declaration of Sentiments about the crimes committed against women.women spoke out at the convention including 19 year old factory worker
  • Seneca falls created A organized campaign.the women rightsreformers slowly made progress and Massachusetts and Indianan made more liberal divorce laws.New York gave women control over there property and wages.Elizabeth Blackwell started a hospital and medical school for women. it still took year for women to gain the right to vote but they played a key role in getting there
