  •   The First President
  • Oh no!  The country is divied on so many issues.
  •  Financial Crisis
  • I just took office! 
  • Hamilton’s Financial Plan
  • Alexander Hamilton Secretary of Treasury
  • Washington was inauguration in April 1789. His first job was to put a working government in place.
  • Whiskey Rebellion
  • We are not doing that! I refuse!
  • The American Revoltion was left in debt from forms of bonds. This was a complicated situation because most people who had originally bought the bonds had sold them for less than they were worth.
  •  Problems in NW Territory
  • British troops and forts were still there.
  • Hamilton's financial was made up of three parts, pay back all debt owed, create a national bank, and create high tariffs. (The last part was not past, but the other two were approved. 
  • French Revolution
  • In order to raise money Congress imposed tax on all whiskey made and sold in the country. This event was the first to test the will of the government and showed Americans that armed rebellion was not acceptable.
  •   The Americans started a battle (called the Battle of Fallen Timbers), Americans won the major victory. This lead to the Treaty of Greenville which was, when the natives gave up most of the land from the Ohio River in the South to Lake Erie in the North.
  • There were three main cause in the Revolution they were, Financial Crisis, Economic Depression and Enlightenment/Age of Reason. The new government was created by the ordinary people it was called the National Assembly.  
  • The French revolution began in April 1789. This was different because the French didn't have independence as the goal.
