As Will speaks, he is starting to evaporate into the air from his collection, and joins Jay.
Hi! My name is Will the water molecule. My journey may begin in an ocean just like this. This phase is called collection. Let me introduce you to my very good friend, Jay the cloud!
Thank you for joining me, Will! Will just went through a process called evaporation. Evaporation is when water vapor is released into the air, and can form clouds like us!
Wow! That happened fast.
The next phase Will goes through is called condensation. Condensation is the conversion of water vapor to a gas or a liquid.
Wills current phase is called precipitation, or rain. This happens when the cloud is filled with too much water vapor, and the cloud needs to release the water.
The cycles next stop is run off, the water draining back into an ocean, river, lake or ground water!
This cycle has been going on for billions of years, the amount of water staying the same amount in all of the parts of the cycle, and if humans don't greatly effect it, it will stay that way!
