Tinker and woodworker Carlo Collodi was the best in the small village.
One day, Carlo created a small wooden puppet, because he was very lonely and socially akward. The puppet, Cedar, became his only friend.
Cedar was special though. He acted like a real child, however he grew more plump whenever he lied. Carlo still loved the boy very much, and one day wished that Cedar would becaome a real child.
Cedar was told that if could stop lying, then he would become a real child. However, as he failed to do so, Carlo became angry, and one day got so mad that he threw Cedar into a room and locked him in there. As he fell asleep late that night, Cedar hear Carlo making something downstairs.
When he woke up the next morning, he found another puppet sitting next to Carlo, and both were smiling. Cedar didn't know what to do, so he decided to find another family who would be able to take care of him.
Cedar waited until it was dark, then decided to run away from home in search of a family who would love him for who he was. However, no families were interested in raising an extra kid, and Cedar continued walking on through the storm, because nobody wanted to help.
