Well I guess this is better then all the kids who have no schooling at all. But things really should get fixed.
This needs to be fixed. We need public education where teachers get paid by government taxes and all students get fair education!
Shall we vote gentlemen?
Kids are not getting the proper education they need and growing up on a farm and being lucky to go to school even a little bit, it's not the schooling kids need. We need schools that kids can learn at their level of thinking and can go to school for free with the same schooling as wealthy kids.
Its a Yes! We will get education reformed!
In the early 1800's there was a definite need for public schools. only wealthy could afford a good private education. Most children went to a half a day one room schooling that had children of all ages attended, learning from a teacher who most commonly never had any prior teaching education. One young man who attended a part time one room school and farmed the other half of the day in Massachusetts went by the name of Horace Mann.
In the 1820's Horace Mann decided to do something about the education in his town. He became the supervisor for education. In towns and villages he spoke out about the education reform he wanted and the citizens responded to Mann's message. They voted to get higher taxes to pay for building pubic schools, higher teacher salaries, and establish training for teachers to earn a better education.
After the reform things were still being changed and added to the reform. The one problem was that boys were able to attend public schools, but not girls. This had to be changed. Along with in the south, African Americans weren't allowed in the sames schools as whites. In 1853, Horace Mann became the first president of a public college that admitted both men and women along with African Americans.
Today the education reform has made a huge impact on today's society. All students are now able to have a good education without having to pay, along with this it keeps kids busy from getting into trouble and school teaches them that there are better decisions then getting into trouble. The education reform has spread and changed by adding other programs and kids into schools like special education, and kids with mental disabilities are all able to go to the same school.
