Hey kids! I'm so excited to talk to you about artisans. There is so much to tell you. Well I guess I will first talk about where they stood on the social pyramid,
Artisans were second on the social pyramid. Artisans were highly skilled laborers who created some of the most beautiful art objects. But, Artisans barley got respected and got credit for there work.
But, artisans played a very important role in society. There was many different roles as an artisans, some jobs you could do were being a jeweler, leather worker, metalworker, painter, potter, sculptor, and a weaver. Most artisans were men, but some women wove fabric, beaded clothing, and made perfume. The most skilled artisans were the stone carvers.
Now we will talk about how and where they lived.
So, Artisans worked in big workshops. Many artisans worked in these work shops at a time. Artisans worked here for normally ten days straight before taking a break and going home. Also, artisans competently depended on employees for food so sometimes artisans often went hungry and food was short.
Did any of the artisans get credit for there work.
