Storyboard Text

  • The stock market crash of 1929 was the main cause of the great depression. A lot of money was lost from that.
  • Bankruptcies and debt were very common. Most people were unable to afford essentials such as food.
  • There was a huge loss of exports before the great depression. We weren't able to make any money from those.
  • There was a fall in demand for products. People stopped buying products which resulted in loss of money for companies.
  • The 1932 drought and dustbowl brought despair to people in America at the time. Without much food, water, or other supplies, surviving the drought and dustbowl was no easy feat to say the least.
  • There was a massive drop of employment. This made it even harder for people to provide for themselves.
