Storyboard Text

  • We at least need to acknowledge the fact that our citizens exist..
  • Our people don't need to vote, we make good decisions anyway!
  • 98% of our population can be outvoted by the other 2!
  • The citizens are too dumb to make their own decisions
  • A meeting scheduled for May 5, 1789 would discuss many reforms and requests from the general population and the government
  • The meeting will include a financial reform agreement where noble/wealthy people won't be exempt from taxation.
  • I swear
  • The meeting would also discuss changes to the voting system where a head was counted over status.
  • Fine, have it your way.
  • The very public meeting resulted in a stalled procedure due to high tensions among the three debating parties.
  • A secret meeting held by the Third Estate established a pact where they wouldn't give up their fight until the voting system was revised by forcing the members to take the Tennis Court Oath.
  • Within a week, most of the clerical deputies and 47 liberal nobles had joined the Third Estate, and on June 27 Louis XVI grudgingly absorbed all three orders into the new assembly.
