  • In 1945, a border was established at the 38th parallel in Korea. The north was controlled by the communist Soviets with American troops in the south.
  • In 1950, North Korea Invaded South Korea
  • During the Korean War, America took Seoul back from North Korea at the Battle of Inchon in 1950.
  • President Truman fired Douglas MacArthur, the highest ranked general in the military.
  • In 1953, Korea was once again split up at the 38th parallel. No official peace treaty was signed.
