  • Linus Pauling sees the flaws in what they think about proteins.
  • Proteins are too big and weak, there has to be something smaller in them. Let's start our research.
  • Hypothesis: There is something that makes proteins and holds them together.
  • Pauling directed his team to discover the shape of amino acids.
  • First we have to determine the shape of the building blocks of proteins. Through research we have found a system normally used for determining crystal shape that we can use for this. It's called X-ray Crystallography.
  • Pauling and his team had many trials and errors in finding the shape of the amino acids.
  • I don't think it is quite right, we should find more evidence, and make more models.
  • Mr. Pauling could this be right? Our techniques and models makes me think we may have found it.

  • We figured it out! The shape is a helix. It looks like a spiral and it is linked with hydrogen bonds.
