In the start of the rock cycle the magma or lava cools and forms intrusive or extrusive igneous rock depending on if its lava or magma.
Either way there is going to be an igneous rock. Then the igneous rock turns into sediment by compression.
Now after its sediment it turns into sedimentary rock by pressure and compaction.
After it is sedimentary rock it turns into metamorphic rock by heat and pressure.
The metamorphic rock turns back into the lava or magma because of major heat and pressure.
Once it turns into magma or lava it hardens and the cycle starts all over again.
