Greetings, I am the disco wizard. I,m here to tell you why we need phrases and clauses in the english language! We need phrases because they help us convey more emotion and communicate better, and we need clauses to form complete sentences!
Alrighty fellas, the next issue is what makes a clause independent or dependent. A clause is independent if it could be its own sentence and it is dependent if it could not operate on its own.
you can tell them now disco polar bear!
The next thing we're gonna talk about is how we need semicolons and colons! Colons are used when the second independent clause in the sentence builds or expands off of the first one, whereas a semi colon is used only to connect two independent clauses.
I killed a man.
The role of a subordinating conjunction is to illustrate the importance of the independent clause, it also provides a transition between two ideas.
Grrrrr we're on a dock now grrrrr.
Can,t go out tonight, I have a big test tomorrow. I have ebola, so I can't go to school.
Tommy loves cars; a bit too much perhaps. Robby fell; there was a lego on the ground. Billy cooked meth; and let teeth as a consequence.
grrrrrrr here are some examples of semicolon use grrrrr
Semi colons are used to connect two clauses. ex: Tommy loved dinosaurs; so his brother took his dinosaur toys. Colons are used the same way except the second clause develops out of the first clause. ex: Billy worked hard: He really earned that promotion
