  • Who is William of Orange?
  • He is a Dutch leader who was invited to invade England but his wife's father was a leader in England so he wasn't sure if he should go or not. But in 1688 he decided to invade England.
  • Wow you are smart. Well what is the glorious revolution?
  • It is when William of Orange invaded England. Then he and his wife took the throne along with the bill or rights. The bill of rights helped create a system of government based on the rule of law and freely elected parliament.
  • What did the Bill of Rights say?
  • It set fourth parliaments right to make laws and levy taxes. It made it impossible for kings to oppose or to do without Parliament by saying armies could only be raised with Parliament's consent and gave citizens to keeps arms.
  • Whats the Toleration Act of 1689?
  • It was an act that granted puritans but not Catholics of free public worship.
  • How did that change England?
  • It changed how much power Parliament had control of.
  • Ohh... so what about...
