  • God I hate blood
  • Man this whole King thing escalated QUICKLY!
  • King James I and King Charles I believed in the Divine Right of Kings, however parliament did not agree and in 1628 parliament made a petition to limit the kings power.
  • Well, I guess I could. None of them divine rights though man!
  • Well he's a gonner. We're bringing back monarchy. Wanna be king?
  • In 1642 the English Civil War begun, pitting parliament and the king against each other.
  • I guess I could, I don't like that dude anyways.
  • Is that Charles?
  • Parliament won the civil war and Oliver Cromwell then took over, beheading King Charles I, and then ruled until his death in 1658.
  • English Bill Of Rights
  • Once Oliver Cromwell passed the army restored the monarchy and made Charles II king, then later in 1685 Charles' brother James II became king.
  • Soon English nobles encouraged William of Orange and his wife Mary (daughter to current king James II) to invade England and take over, which they did and James II then fled to France when he realized he had little support from england.
  • Hey Willy! Help us take down ole Chuck and lead our country!
  • William and Mary laid the foundation for constitutional monarchy and created the Bill Of Rights, and the Monarchy and Parliament ruled together and destroyed the theory of Divine Right of Kings.
  • You didn't really think they had a chance did you? Not only did we win but we pioneered a new political standard in England!!
