  • Growing up as a kid, Abraham was always working on the farm or for the neighbors. With only a handful of kids, he was able to teach himself how to read and write, which was very rare in their youth.
  • Growing up with this knowledge and the "hand on" ability made a huge positive influence on him
  • I was born in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, February 12, 1809
  • One thing that I had to overcome was my depression.  Several things wouldn't have had happened if he was not cured like marrying his wife and deciding that he wanted to make great changes in life, such as ending slavery
  • Working at a young age helped Abraham as an advantage, getting him ready to be an adult. By the age of nineteen, he was working for a storekeeper to handle farm produce back an forth
  • The struggles between Lincoln and Douglas was of values and public policy that had a lasting impact on the country.
  • Abraham Lincoln is remembered for his important role as the leader of being president and in preserving the Union during the Civil War and beginning the process, also know as the Emancipation Proclamation, that led to the end of slavery in the United States.
  • The world is different today because, without Abraham Lincoln, we would most likely be divided as the United States and slavery would be legal still.
