Storyboard Text

  • O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright! It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night As a rich jewel in an Ethiop's ear.
  • Content thee, gentle coz, let him alone- And, to say truth, Verona brags of him
  • This, by his voice, should be a Montague. How dare this lowlife come here to mock and scorn our banquet
  • Wilt thou be gone? It is not yeat near day. It was the nightingale, and not the lark, That pierc'd the fearful hollow of thine year
  • It was the lark, the hearld of the morn, no nightingle. I must be gone and live, or stay and die. Let me be ta'en, let me be put to death; I am content, so thou wilt have it so.
  • What if this potion do not work at all? What if it be poison, which the friar subtly hath minister'd to have me dead How if, when I am into the tomb, I wake before the time that Romeo come to redeem me?
  • O, if I wake shall I not be distraught , enviorned with all these hideous fears, and madly play with my forefathers' joints, and pluck the mangled Tybalt from his shroud
  •  This man v. man conflict between Tybalt and Romeo is external. This conflict begins when Romeo attends the Capulet-only party despite being a Montague. Romeo attending the party deeply effects Tybalt as now he wants to fight him. So, Tybalt then sends Romeo a duel request, which ends up getting denied but accepted by Romeo's friend, Mercutio. While fighting, Tybalt stabs and kills Mercutio. This death affects Romeo as now he wants to fight Tybalt to the death as revenge
  • This man vs. nature conflict between Romeo and Juliet v. nature is external. It is external because Romeo and Juliet want to continue spending time with each other but they can't. The reason they can't is because if Romeo gets caught in Verona he will get executed.
  • It is, it is!  Hie hence, be gone, away! It is the lark that sings so out of tune
  • More light and light; more dark and dark our woes!
  • This character v. self conflict involving Juliet is internal. It is internal because Juliet is listing her fears about drinking the potion and contemplating on whether or not she should drink it, which she eventually does.
  •       Romeo, I come! This do I drink to thee.
  • While fighting, Romeo ends up killing Tybalt. The deaths of these characters have an impact on the plot because now Romeo is banished from Verona and Juliet is being forced to marry Paris by her parents. Her parents wanted to distract Verona of Tybalt's death so they believe that by marrying Juliet, Verona wouldn't pay attention to Tybalt's death.
  • This effects the plot as now there is no way for the couple to be with each other without risking Romeo's safety.
  • Juliet drinking the potion effects the plot as now everybody believes she is dead, including Romeo. Romeo now wants to commit suicide because he can't stand living knowing that Juliet is "dead"
