  • Scout's first day of school
  • Why are you taking me to the first day of school Jem?
  • I'm going to show you where your class is scout.
  • Calpurnia Scowls Scout
  • But he used all the maple syrup.
  • Don't tell walter what he can and can't eat
  • Boo Radley tree knot gifts
  • Oooo gum!
  • "Jem condescended to take me to school the first day, a job usually done by one's parents, but Atticus had said Jem would be delighted to show me where my room was (Lee 20)." Atticus is busy a lot because he is a lawer, Jem taking Scout to the first day of school shows a sign of maturity in both of them. Scout is six and was open to the fact that her ten year old brother was taking her to the first day od first grade.
  • Boo Radley game
  • Scout your Mrs. Radely, Dill is Mr. Radely and I'm Boo Radely
  • "It was then Calpurnia requested my presence in the kitchen. She was furious, and when she was furious Calpurnia's grammar became erratic (Lee 32)." Calpurnia doesn't want Scout to judge Walter because he never gets to eat so he doesn't know manners and educate. This is a big lesson for Scout to respect other peoples ways of living and eating.

  • Don't go
  • "Don't eat things you find, Scout. This wasn't on the ground, It was in a tree (Lee 44)."

Over the summer Jem came up with the Boo Radley game the kids played it every day until one day Atticus caught them and they almost got in big trouble. Scout did try to tell the boys to stop but there where to of them and one of her. She did standup to the boys but they didn't listen and told scout they would not be caught, so scout kept on playing and they were caught.
  • "I sat upright You can't. I won't let you. He was struggling into his shirt. I've got to. You do and I'll wake up Atticus (Lee 74)." Scout tries to step up and protect her brother and this is a really big deal for scout. This is really mature of scout because she told her older brother what to do, granted he didn't listen but she stepped up and was the bigger person.
  • I am going to get my pants back from the Radleys place
