  • The Kingdom of Ghana lasted from 500 C.E. to 1200 C.E.
  • Kingdom of  Ghana
  • Who rules Ghana's government, you might ask?
  • Ghana was ruled by a powerful king. The king was the head of the army and had the final says in the matters of justice.
  • What animals helped develop the Trans-Saharan trade route?
  • Camels helped develop the Trans-Saharan trade route. They were well equipped for the desert weather.
  • What made the Wangara gold miners so interesting?
  • The miners had kept the secret of where the location of Wagnara was, they would rather die then tell anyone where it was, people to this day still dont know where the mines are located for certain.
  • How did the Taghaza  harvest salt? And  did tax systems  pay for armies to  protect the kingdom?
  • The Tagahaza used evaporation  to harvest salt and they also used  to get salt through mining.  The taxes did help pay for armies to protect the kingdom.
  • Lets talk about the goods of Kumbai.
  • Kumbai had the busiest markets in West Africa. Many local craftspeople soled their goods there. Many people had sold different things.
