Rock climbing is an activity done by many people everyday. Those that participate in this activity test the rules of gravity, friction, elasticity, and magnetism.
Magnetism plays a big factor in the equipment rock climbers use. The belayer uses magnetic breaking systems. These use opposing magnetic forces to slow the climbers decent when going down the rock wall. This increases the climbers safety, and is ideal in an auto belay device.

Friction is used in rock climbing with the climbers shoes. Climbers use friction to their advantage by stopping their feet from sliding on the rock. They also have to put their feet in the creases of the rock in order to climb upwards.

Elastic force also plays a big role in rock climbing to help the climber when decending the mountain or when falling down to the belayer. The ropes amount of durability, and strength benefits the climber becuase when falling the rope is able to stretch. This decreases the climbers falling distance, and increases their safety.
Lastly, gravity is used becucase this is a force that pulls objets towards each other. Without gravity the climber would not have to worry about falling off the mountain, but becuase of gravity equipment was created to help the climber overcome gravity. The belayer uses equipment such as quickdraws, and ropes to help break the climbers decent.

All in all, these forces play a large role in not only rock climbing but our everyday lives. Knowing their roles, and what they do is very useful!
