The Crossing or Return Threshold
"Gabriel, we made it!"
Jonas and Gabriel find a sled
We believe that Jonas fits the quality of a hero by, risking his life for his communities memories. And Jonas is also a hero, because Gabriel was going to be released, (killed) and by taking Gabriel with him, Jonas saved him. If Jonas didn't leave, then the Giver wouldn't have seen his daughter. The receiver of memory had to help his community, so Jonas had to do what he had to do.
